Background

J. Tegan Broadwater
President, Tactical Systems Network, LLC:

J. TEGAN BROADWATER served as a Fort Worth Police Officer for 13 years. His tenure included stints with two Fort Worth Narcotics Units, the Tarrant County Narcotics Unit, the Fort Worth Gang Unit, and the FBI Gang/Violent Crimes Task Force. He also worked and investigated cases with the DEA, Secret Service, and ATF. In 2001, Broadwater provided armed security at the United Nations Building, executed threat assessments and served as a protection specialist/armed transport of persons and supplies at "ground zero" in New York City during the September 11 catastrophe.

Broadwater’s experience ranges from expert undercover operations, investigations and surveillance, to protection and threat analysis. Trained in mixed martial arts at the Wu Hsin Kuen Academy in Irving, Texas, and a certified instructor of Defensive Tactics and Tactical Driving, he also instructed veteran officers and recruits at the Fort Worth Police Department for 9 years.

Broadwater received dozens of commendations and awards. Among those he received was a Certificate of Merit for tracking, locating, and seizing C-4 explosives during a gang retaliation plot, two awards presented by then Texas Senator Mike Moncrief for his work in New York City at “Ground Zero”, he is a four-time nominee for the Fort Worth Police Department’s Officer of the Year, and he earned the FWPD Officer of the Year award and the United States Attorney’s Office Commendation Award in 2006. His undercover and investigative work in "Operation Fish Bowl" got it nominated for the FBI's Overall Case of the Year in 2006.
